WASP3D overlays are rendered in real time and can be integrated into vMix in a few ways depending on your setup. Here’s the step-by-step approach:
This is the most common and seamless way.
Enable NDI Output in WASP3D
In your WASP3D Playout/On-Air Manager, enable the NDI output for the graphics channel you want to stream.
Make sure your WASP3D and vMix are on the same network.
Open vMix
Go to Add Input → NDI/Desktop Capture.
You should see the WASP3D NDI feed listed (it’ll appear as a live source).
Overlay or Layer It
Add the WASP3D input.
Use it as a main input, or put it as an Overlay channel on top of your camera feed.
vMix preserves the alpha (transparency), so your lower-thirds, tickers, or animations will overlay perfectly.
If you have professional video cards (like DeckLink Duo, Quad, or AJA):
Set up Fill + Key Output in WASP3D
WASP3D sends two outputs: one for the graphic fill and one for the alpha channel (key).
Capture in vMix
Add both inputs in vMix.
vMix will composite them (fill + key) to make clean transparent overlays.
👉 This method is usually used by broadcasters who need SDI workflows.
✅ Best Practice:
Most people go with NDI integration, because it’s plug-and-play, requires no extra hardware, and supports alpha channel properly in vMix.
